Coffee Hair Rinse.

Wash my hair with  coffee? Really?

Yup.

Cleanse your scalp and hair the natural way using simple every day organic ingredients and some coffee.

This is what it'll do for you:

  • Naturally cleanse your hair and scalp.

Before we jump straight into it, let's take a quick look at what coffee is best to use.

Coffee Beans.

The ingredients we'll use only slightly differ between the 3 different coffee scrub types. But first, let's clear up something on the kind of coffee we want to be using.

Whether your using instant from a jar or coffee maker coffee, you want to avoid using "finely ground". This stuff is just to 'powderry' to use as a scrub. It may clog up your skin pores and maybe give you a 'coffee tan'.

Best Coffee for a Rinse?

  • Organic Robusta - Light Roast is the best coffee bean to use due to it's naturally high nutrition content.

  • Arabica is fine.

  • Liberica is ok but you'll get 'limited' results due to it's low caffeine content.

  • De-caff is pretty useless as it contains almost zero caffeine.

  • If your coffee doesn't say Robusta or Liberica, it's Arabica.

You can use whatever coffee you have in your kitchen, unless it's

de-caff or 'finely ground'.

The below is just to let you know what the best stuff to use is.

Give Your Hair a Natural boost.

The great thing about this coffee mix is that it really doesn't matter what kind of hair you have, it will work wonders for the health & well being of your hair and scalp.

So whether you have dry hair, greasy, afro, short, long or anything else, the natural ingredients of this coffee rinse will work wonders.

This is what we'll cover:

  1. Short hair - 2 inches or 5cm or shorter.

  2. Medium hair - 6cm (2.5in) to 10cm (4in).

  3. Long hair - Around neck length.

  4. Longer hair - Around shoulder length or longer.

  Let's get straight to it.

1. Coffee Rinse for Short Hair.

This is what we will need to use:

  • A dish or a bowl of some sort.

  • A spoon.

  • Your fingers.

  • A food blender of some sort.

Quick & easy to wash, quick & easy to dry. Usually easy to style.

Let's give an 'injection of health' to your hair and scalp.

Short Hair = Easy to Maintain.

This is what we will need to make our 'base' mix.

  • Some coffee.

  • Some water.

Some Lemon Juice.

Slice of Apple.

Slice of Tomato.

A Few Blueberries.

We'll be using the exact same ingredients for all hair lengths.

The amounts required will be lesser for short hair, more for longer hair.

This smoothie will naturally contain:

  • Citric Acid.

  • Glycolic Acid.

  • Lactic Acid.

  • Malic Acid.

  • Tartaric Acid.

  • Cucumber.

  • Salt.

  • sugar.

Why rub all this stuff into your head?

This is what they do:

  • Citric Acid.

       Citric acid helps lower the pH level of you scalp skin. This is a big help             in  keeping your hair strong & healthy (All hair types).

  • Glycolic Acid.

​       Glycolic acid helps maintain moisture,  strengthen hair and also                       prevent breakage. 

  • Lactic Acid.

       Lactic acid is known to increase the tensile strength of your hair, thus           reducing breakage and reducing the fragility of fragile hair.​

  • Malic Acid.

       Malic acid is known to eliminate bacteria and dandruff. It also can give         your hair a nice shine. It also neutralizes the pH levels of the hair                       follicles and removes micro-dirt deposits stuck to the hair.

  • Tartaric Acid.

       Helps keep the Ph levels of your scalp/hair at healthy levels. Gives a                 healthy shine to your hair.​

  • Cucumber.

       Cucumber is a strong aid in promoting healthy hair growth.​

       (there's loads of info on google about cucumber for healthy hair).

  • Salt.

       Salt will loosen and remove micro-flakes of dead skin and stimulate             circulation for a healthy scalp. Salt will also absorb any excess skin                 oil, which eliminates fungus and the root cause of dandruff. It's also a           powerful anti-bacterial agent.

  • Sugar (Brown is better).

       Sugar mainly serves as a natural exfoliant for your scalp. If you use               shampoos or any kind of hair products, you'll be surprised how much         micro-gunk will not be removed by normal shampoos.

Let's Get Srubbin'.

Ingredients.

Don't forget that you can freeze a coffee rinse after you've made it. If you made more than what you needed, just pop it in a tub and freeze it for when you want to use it again.

Leave thaw out for around 24 hours before use.

  • ​About a third of a pint (150ml) of water.

  • Add 6 or 7 teaspoons (or equivalent) of coffee.

  • 3 teaspoons of salt. (Any kind is fine).

  • 3 teaspoons of sugar (brown is best, use what you've got).

  • 4 teaspoons of lemon juice or a slice of lemon (leave peel on).

  • 2 teaspoons of honey.

  • 3 or 4 grapes (any kind).

  • 2 slices of cucumber.(Leave the peel on).

  • 5 or 6 blueberries. Just throw them in as they are.

  • 2 apple slices. Any kind. (Leave the peel on).

To Do.

Just pop everything into your blender and mix it all up for around 3 to 4 seconds, 3 times. You'll get it just perfect. 

  • Pour your mix into your bowl or dish.

  • Find your perfect place to apply your scrub. A bathroom is usually best as it's easy to accidentally splash a bit of scrub onto the floor or wall.

     

Rub it all in.

Just like a shampoo. Make sure you get it everywhere, behind the ears too. Every part of your head.

Next thing you want to be doing is to massage into the skin of your scalp.

Just use your finger tips to rub it all into every part of skin on your head.

For best results, make sure you spend at least 20 seconds massaging your rinse/mix into your scalp. There's no need to do it longer than 40 seconds.

That's it.

Absorption time: We highly recommend leaving the scrub in your hair for at least 5 mins, 10 is better. This allows the skin more time to absorb more nutrients from the scrub and also allows for the scrub to have more of an affect on your hair.

Once your done here, time to hit the shower. It's important that you don't use any chemicals to rinse your hair. Just use water only.

This recipe is so effective at doing what we've said it does, you won't need to do it often. 

To keep your head of hair in top condition, we'd recommend once or twice a month (up to you).

2. Coffee Rinse for Medium Hair.

Same as Above, Slightly More.

Exactly the same ingredients. So let's just get straight to it.

Amounts.

  • ​About half a pint (250ml) of water.

  • Add 8 or 9 teaspoons (or equivalent) of coffee.

  • 4 teaspoons of salt. (Any kind is fine).

  • 4 teaspoons of sugar (brown is best, use what you've got).

  • 5 teaspoons of lemon juice or a slice of lemon (leave peel on).

  • 3 teaspoons of honey.

  • 4 or 5 grapes (any kind).

  • 3 slices of cucumber.(Leave the peel on).

  • 7 or 8 blueberries. Just throw them in as they are.

  • 3 apple slices. Any kind. (Leave the peel on).

To Do.

Just pop everything into your blender and mix it all up for around 3 to 4 seconds, 3 times. You'll get it just perfect. 

  • Pour your mix into your bowl or dish.

  • Find your perfect place to apply your scrub. A bathroom is usually best as it's easy to accidentally splash a bit of scrub onto the floor or wall.

     

Rub it all in.

Just like a shampoo. Make sure you get it everywhere, behind the ears too. Every part of your head.

Next thing you want to be doing is to massage into the skin of your scalp.

Just use your finger tips to rub it all into every part of skin on your head.

For best results, make sure you spend at least 20 seconds massaging your rinse/mix into your scalp. There's no need to do it longer than 40 seconds.

  • 6 teaspoons of salt. (Any kind is fine).

  • 6 teaspoons of lemon juice or a slice of lemon (leave peel on).

  • 4 teaspoons of honey.

  • 7 or 8 grapes (any kind).

  • 8 teaspoons of lemon juice or a slice of lemon (leave peel on).

  • 5 teaspoons of honey.

  • 10 grapes (any kind).

  • 5 slices of cucumber.(Leave the peel on).

  • 12 to 14 blueberries. Just throw them in as they are.

  • 4 apple slices. Any kind. (Leave the peel on).

To Do.

Just pop everything into your blender and mix it all up for around 3 to 4 seconds, 3 times. You'll get it just perfect.
