Coffee Scrub for Dry Skin.
Medium skin, also known as balanced skin, is the lowest maintenance out of the different skin types. Naturally balanced with a healthy Ph level.
See what amazing things our all natural coffee scrub can do for you.
Mother Nature Can Help Your Skin.
AHA ! .... stands for Alpha-Hydroxy Acids. These lovely little acids can be found in many foods throughout nature and are great at gently removing dead skin cells, allowing for healthy new ones to grow more freely.
So, this scrub comes in 2 phases.
-
We'll quickly make an AHA smoothie for our skin.
-
Make & apply our coffee scrub. Simple.
A lot of pre-made scrubs you can buy online that contain AHA's are made with synthetic factory processed AHA's. These are of an inferior quality compared to what mother nature offers us. Scientific fact.
Let's Get Srubbin'.
This is what we will need to use:
-
A dish or a bowl of some sort.
-
A spoon.
-
Your fingers.
-
A food blender of some sort.
-
Maybe a back scrubber of some sort.
For our AHA skin smoothie, we'll have ...
Some Grapes.
A Slice of Tomato.
Some Blueberries.
Some Brown Sugar.
A Slice of Apple.
This smoothie will naturally contain:
-
Citric Acid.
-
Glycolic Acid.
-
Lactic Acid.
-
Malic Acid.
-
Tartaric Acid.
For our scrub, we'll have some ...
Aloe Vera.
Coconut Oil.
Table Salt.
Olive Oil.
Some Honey.
All Done.
Absorption time: We highly recommend leaving the scrub on your skin for at least 5 mins, 10 is better. This allows the skin more time to absorb more nutrients from the scrub.
Once your done here, time to hit the shower. It's important that you don't use any chemicals to wash your face/neck. Just use water only.
Au naturale.
Your skin will appreciate it.
This is What You've Done.
Exfoliated.
Anti-bacterial.
Anti-microbial.
Anti-fungal.
Moisterized (Perfect amount).
Cleaned the pores out.
Nourished your skin.
Entirely Au Naturale.
You can make and apply one of these scrubs whenever you feel like, but we'd recommend no more than once per week, no less than once per month.
Amounts shown are based on having enough scrub to do your face and your neck (if you want to).
(Don't forget that you can freeze a scrub or a smoothie after you've made it. It'll keep fresh for months in a freezer. Leave it thaw out for around 24 hours before use).
AHA Smoothie Ingredients.
You'll need a food blender/smoothie maker of some sort. Life is so much easier with one of these. Always aim for using organic ingredients.
-
Add around 5 grapes. Any kind is fine. Seeds are fine too.
-
You want around 5 blueberries. Straight into the blender.
-
4 teaspoons of brown sugar (or 4 cubes).
-
1 slice of apple. - Leave the peel on.
-
1 slice of a tomato. Peel and seeds are fine.
-
Add about a quarter of a pint (140-150ml) of water.
Just pop everything into your blender and mix it all up for 4 seconds, 4 times. Perfect. (It may be a little bit lumpy, that's fine - different blenders = different results.).
Just pour it into a bowl or a dish, ready to use.
Coffee Scrub Ingredients.
Give your blender/smoothie maker a good rinse, then we'll add the following:
-
Add about a quarter of a pint (150ml) of water into your blender.
-
Add 5 teaspoons (or equivalent) of coffee.
-
4 teaspoons of salt. (Table salt is fine for this scrub).
-
2 table spoons of olive oil.
-
1 teaspoon of coconut oil.
-
You want 3 or 4 teaspoons of Aloe Vera (Plant cuttings or quality gel).
-
You want 3 teaspoons of honey.
Just pop everything into your blender and mix it all up for 4 seconds, 4 times. Perfect. (It may be a little bit lumpy, that's fine - different blenders = different results.).
Just pour it into a bowl or a dish, ready to use.
Let's Rock.
A bathroom is usually the best place to apply this just in case anything drips onto the floor or carpet (it'll probably stain). If you don't want to get any in your hair, maybe best to tie it up or wear a shower cap or something.
To Do.
AHA Smoothie:
What we're aiming for here is to just rub this into our skin. Apply it as if you were rubbing water into your skin. No need to "massage" it in like a moisteriser cream. Just give a good rub and make sure you cover any area that you're going to apply the coffee scrub to. If you want to do your back, either tag a friend or just use a back scrubber of some kind.
Leave it soak into your skin for around 5 minutes before moving onto the next step.
To Do.
Coffee Scrub:
Just pop everything into your blender and mix it all up for around 3 to 4 seconds, 3 times. You'll get it just perfect.
-
Pour your mix into your bowl or dish.
-
Find your perfect place to apply your scrub. A bathroom is usually best as it's easy to accidentally splash a bit of scrub onto the floor or wall.
(If you don't want to get any in your hair, place your hair in a bun or use a shower cap or something similar).
Scrubba-dub-dub.
You can apply your scrub however you prefer to, or follow the steps below.
-
Start with your cheeks and rub the scrub in a slow circular motion.
-
Nice & slow. Make sure you gently massage the nourishment into every part of your skin.
-
You can either do 1 cheek at a time or just use both hands to do both at once.
-
Make sure you spend at least 20 seconds massaging the scrub into each cheek.
-
Do your nose. It has skin too! Top to bottom, 20 seconds.
2. Beneath your eyes and around the side.
-
Same technique. Massage your scrub into the skin under your eyes, taking care not to get any in your eyes (obviously).
-
Again, spend at least 20 seconds gently rubbing the ingredients into your skin.
3. Forehead.
-
Circular motions. Just rub it all in but not too hard. Same again here, at least 20 seconds. Make sure you don't miss anywhere.
4. Chin and neck.
We're sure you get how to do it by now. Rubba-dub-dub it all in.
-
Don't forget the 20 second rule.
-
Look up to the ceiling when doing your neck. It'll help open the pores a little more to receive all of the lovely natural nutrition your feeding it.
And that's it. No more required.
